LP 1972: ‘PINK MOON’ (Nick Drake)

El 25 de febrero de 1972 se publicó en el Reino Unido el tercer y último álbum del músico británico Nick Drake, 'Pink Moon', que, despojado del exceso instrumental de sus anteriores trabajos, se grabó sólo con la voz y guitarra de Drake. El resultado fue un disco poderosamente emocional e intimista, cuyo contenido transmitía soledad, desesperación y distanciamiento.

La canción que dio título al álbum fue la que provocó que muchos descubrieran a este músico de enorme talento 27 años después, en 1999, cuando la empresa de automóviles Volkswagen decidió utilizarla para la campaña publicitaria en TV de un modelo VW Cabrio.

LP 1977: ‘PETER GABRIEL’ (Peter Gabriel)

El 25 de febrero de 1977 se publicó el primer álbum de estudio en solitario de Peter Gabriel tras su salida de Genesis. En el tema 'Solsbury hill', que fue editado en single, Gabriel explicaba sus sensaciones después de abandonar la banda. El álbum fue el primero de una serie de cuatro, cuyo título fue el mismo, por lo que también es conocido como 'Car', por el coche que aparece en la portada. Colaboraron músicos de la talla de Robert Fripp, Tony Levin y Steve Hunter. Grabado en los estudios Soundstage de Toronto bajo producción de Bob Ezrin, alcanzó el puesto 7 en las listas británicas y el 38 en el Billboard 200 americano.
