LP 1966: 'AFTERMATH' (Rolling Stones)

El 15 de abril de 1966 se publicó 'Aftermath', el cuarto álbum de los Stones en Inglaterra y el sexto en Estados Unidos. Fue un trabajo importante de la banda británica, ya que por primera vez estaba integrado en su totalidad por canciones firmadas por Mick Jagger y Keith Richards, lo que supuso para ellos un reconocimiento como compositores que les acercaba a los grandes de la escena como Dylan o Lennon/McCartney. Aunque seguían siendo unos entusiastas del blues eléctrico de Chicago, el álbum destacó por su diversidad estilística e instrumental impulsada por Brian Jones, quien utilizó una variedad de instrumentos poco asociados hasta entonces con el rock, como el sitar de 'Paint it black', el dulcimer de 'Lady Jane' y 'I'm waiting', las marimbas de 'Under my thumb' y 'Out of time', las armónicas de 'High and dry' y 'Goin' home' y el koto japonés en 'Take it or leave it' además de las habituales guitarras y teclados. Con este trabajo demostraron que, además de ser unos talentosos músicos de R&B, eran una banda con ambiciones musicales, capaz de evolucionar.
