SINGLE 1977: 'WE WILL ROCK YOU / WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS' (Queen)

El 7 de octubre de 1977 se editó el sencillo 'We will rock you' del grupo Queen, como adelanto del álbum 'News of the World', publicado el 28 de octubre. Escrita por el guitarrista Brian May, en 2009 fue incluida en el Grammy Hall of Fame. Además de los 30 segundos del solo de guitarra final, la canción está cantada a capella, acompañada únicamente por golpes y palmadas como base de ritmo. En la otra cara del disco se incluía el tema 'We are the Chanpions' que muchas emisoras emitían a continuación de 'We will rock you' sin interrupción como lo harían los propios Queen en sus shows en directo. Desde su aparición, ambos temas han sido versionados, remezclados, sampleados o parodiados por numerosos artistas y han sido utilizados en otros tantos shows de TV, películas y otros medios. Por otro lado, gracias a su sencillez, se han convertido en himnos en los estadios y competiciones deportivas en todo el mundo. En 2017, conmemorando el 40 aniversario de la publicación de 'News of the World', Queen publicó una versión diferente de 'We will rock you' procedente de aquellas sesiones con otro solo de guitarra.
