LP 1970: ‘AFTER THE GOLDRUSH’ (Neil Young)

El 19 de septiembre de 1970 se publicó en Estados Unidos bajo el sello Reprise Records, 'After The Goldrush', tercer álbum del cantautor canadiense Neil Young. Fue uno de los magníficos álbumes en solitario que David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash y Neil Young -tras el gran éxito que les supuso 'Déjà Vu'-, emprendieron cada uno por su lado.

LP 1978: ‘LIVING IN THE U.S.A.’ (Linda Ronstadt)

El 19 se septiembre de 1979 se publicó ‘Living in the U.S.A.’, el noveno álbum de estudio de la cantante estadounidense Linda Ronstadt. Fue su tercer LP en alcanzar el nº1 del Billboard200 y el primero en la industria discográfica que adquirió la categoría de disco de doble platino. Se extrajeron varios singles como su versión del tema de Chuck Berry ‘Back in the U.S.A.’, ‘Ooh baby bay’ (original de Smokey Robinson), que fue top10, ‘Just one look’ (que grabó Doris Troy en 1963) y ‘Alison’, conocido tema de Elvis Costello, a quien no le gustó en absoluto la versión de la cantante aunque manifestó estar agradecido por el dinero que le reportó en derechos de autor. El álbum incluía magníficos solos del saxofonista David Sanborn y otra versión destacable del disco fue la del tema de Elvis ‘Love me tender’, con la que se editó un 'mashup' usando la grabación original de Presley que fue ampliamente radiado por las emisoras de la época.
