LP 1971: ‘BLUE’ (Joni MItchell)

El 22 de junio de 1971 se publicó en EEUU, 'Blue' el cuarto trabajo de la cantautora canadiense Joni Mitchell. Considerado por muchos su mejor obra, fue un éxito comercial además de recibir excelentes críticas. Alcanzó el puesto 15 de las listas de álbumes USA y el nº3 en las del Reino Unido. El single 'Carey' que se extrajo, también entró en las listas.

LP 1972: ‘A SONG FOR YOU’ (Carpenters)

El 22 de junio de 1972 se publicó en EEUU el álbum 'A Song For You', cuarto LP del grupo The Carpenters. El nivel creativo fue tal, que se extrajeron seis singles del álbum, más que en ningún otro trabajo de estudio de los hermanos 'carpinteros'.

En el momento de su publicación, la combinación de la gran imagen de Richard y Karen junto a sus inofensivas y populares melodías pop, les había convertido en grandes estrellas. En esta ocasión, la inconsistencia de trabajos anteriores fue reemplazada por una decena de canciones de gran calidad. Una contribución vital fue la del letrista John Bettis, quien coescribió con Richard Carpenter dos de los mejores y más famosos temas del disco: 'Goodbye to love' y 'Top of the World'.
