LP 1970: ‘DÉJÀ VU’ (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young)

El 11 de marzo de 1970 se publicó ‘Déjà Vu’, segundo álbum del trío Crosby Stills & Nash, a los que se añadió Neil Young para la ocasión. Fue una de las secuelas más esperadas de la historia del rock, que no defraudó a nadie y alcanzó fácilmente el nº1 de las listas Billboard y el nº5 en el Reino Unido., gracias a temas como ‘Woodstock’, ‘Carry On’, ‘Helpless’ y ‘Teach your children’.

LP 1974: ‘CHICAGO VII’ (Chicago)

El 11 de marzo de 1974 se publicó el sexto álbum (doble) de la banda Chicago, el tercer nº1 consecutivo de una serie de cinco que coparon las listas del Billboard 200 entre los años 1972-75 y el último que editaron en formato doble LP. Iba a ser en principio un álbum sencillo con temas más orientados hacia el jazz instrumental, pero el miedo del productor James William Guercio y de Peter Cetera a no cumplir las expectativas comerciales, les hizo añadir una serie de temas más ‘convencionales’, como ‘(I’ve been) Searchin’ so long’ de James Pankow, ‘Call on me’ del trompetista Lee Loughname o ‘Happy man’ y la suntuosa balada pop ‘Wishing you were here’ de Cetera, que ofrecía pistas de la senda musical que iban a seguir en el futuro.
